The “Messy Desk” Update: Feb 25 Release Notes

We just fixed the biggest disconnect in the design process: the gap between the messy workshop where you create, and the clean room where you get approval.

After a six-month mission to completely rebuild our collaboration stack, the final piece is here. We have been desperate to ship this because it finally solves the “messy desk” problem.

If you are tired of apologising for a chaotic Figma canvas or chasing feedback across five different tools… this update is going to feel like a massive relief.

Highlights are below, but for the full technical breakdown, head over to the full changelog on Atarim Labs.

The New Graphic Feedback Tool

Figma and Illustrator are brilliant for creating. They are digital studios with sketches, half-finished ideas, and mood boards scattered everywhere. But inviting a client into that raw workspace for sign-off is a nightmare. It is like holding a serious business meeting in the middle of a noisy construction site. They get overwhelmed, they comment on the wrong things, and the “exploration” phase bleeds into the “approval” phase.

We built the new Graphic Feedback Tool to stop that bleeding.

This isn’t just for websites anymore. You can now pull in PDFs, PSDs, Illustrator files, and even DWG files for the architects among us. But the real shift happens with our brand new Figma plugin.

Instead of letting clients wander around your messy workshop, you use the plugin to curate the experience. You select exactly what needs approval (maybe just three specific frames) click a button, and in about a minute you have a clean, linear presentation in Atarim.

This separates “exploration” from “approval.” The client goes from top to bottom, approving or rejecting specific screens without getting lost in the noise.

Crucially, the problem of “which version is this?” is gone! In Figma, history is a blur of continuous changes. In Atarim, you now have clear Revision Rounds.

You can draw a line in the sand and tell your client, “This is Version 3,” so they know exactly what has changed since the last round. It turns a never-ending feedback loop into a straight line.

The “Get In, Get Out” Client Flow

The second big hurdle is login fatigue. If you force a busy stakeholder to create an account and set a password just to leave one comment on a PDF, they probably won’t do it. They will just send you a confusing email instead.

As Vito puts it, clients have a very specific mindset. They want to “get in, give feedback, and get out.”

The new Guest Flow is designed entirely around that behaviour. We have stripped away the walls. When you send a link, they land directly on the design. They can click and comment immediately.

We only ask for their name and email after they engage, and just once so they get notifications. We even added a 90-day memory cookie. If they come back next week to approve the next batch, we recognise them instantly. No passwords to forget, no friction, just approved work.

Squashing the Flow Breakers

This update also marks the completion of our collaboration stack rebuild. The platform is faster, cleaner, and fully up to 2026 standards. While we were under the hood, we also fixed a few specific bugs that were breaking your flow:

  • The Scroll Trap: We fixed an issue where sites with custom scroll containers would break your mouse wheel in the sidebar. You can now scroll freely on complex sites without fighting the interface.
  • The Disappearing Robot: Minimising the sidebar in the Chrome extension used to hide your AI comments. We fixed this so your AI teammate stays visible even when you are browsing.
  • The Missing Exit: We found a project selection modal that was missing its “Close” button. You no longer have to refresh the browser just to dismiss it (sorry about that one).

What’s Coming Next?

Now that the foundation is solid, we are moving to the next phase. We are looking at using the structured data from these new graphic tools to build smarter AI agents that understand the context of your designs, plus deeper integrations with Jira and Asana to automate the handoff even further.

Time to tidy up your process.

Log in, install the new Figma plugin, and try a handoff today. It is the cleanest way to get from “draft” to “done.”

Figma, AI Vision & The Big Spring Clean: Feb 11 Release Notes

We’ve kept our heads down for the last few weeks, but for good reason. While the rest of the world was recovering from January, our engineering team we’ve been on coding spree.

We know creative collaboration is usually broken in two ways: feedback gets scattered across too many tools, and critical expertise goes missing when you’re rushing to meet a deadline.

This release tackles both.

We’ve bridged the gap between your design phase and your build phase, given the InnerCircle “eyes” to read your documents, and tightened the screws on the platform to help you ship better work, faster.

Here are the highlights. As always, you can find the full, nitty-gritty changelog on Atarim Labs.

? New: The Atarim <> Figma Plugin

What it is: The number one most-requested integration is finally here. You can now import designs into Atarim directly from Figma.

Why it matters:
Feedback is a mess when it lives in one silo (Figma comments) and your build team lives in another (Atarim/Jira/Email). This plugin fixes that.

By importing your frames directly into Atarim, you move the feedback loop out of isolated files and into a centralised visual collaboration platform.

You get version control, clear task statuses, and the ability to pull clients into a lane where they can actually be helpful… without letting them break your auto-layout.

How to use it:

  1. Install the plugin (link below).
  2. Import your frames directly into an Atarim Project.
  3. Collaborate: Use our visual tools (which go way deeper than standard Figma comments) to leave expert feedback on the design before a single line of code is written.

? New: AI File Uploads & “Reasoning”

What it is: You can now upload up to 5 files (PDFs, images, docs) for the AI to reference. Plus, we’ve upgraded the reasoning engine behind the scenes—reviews are now 2.3x faster.

Why it matters:
Until now, the AI analysed what was on the page. Now, it can analyse what should be on the page.

This is a massive upgrade for the InnerCircle. It means Pixel (Design) can check your live site against a Figma export, or Lexi (Copy) can cross-reference a page against a PDF of your brand voice guidelines.

It’s the difference between a generic review and a strategic audit.

How to use it:

  • The Compliance Check: Upload a PDF of your client’s brand guidelines and ask the AI: “Does this page match the fonts and colours in the attached PDF?”
  • The Design Audit: Upload the original Figma export as an image and ask: “List every visual difference between the live page and this image.”
  • One-Click QA: Combine this with Canned Prompts to turn a complex document check into a single button click.

⚡ Feature: Due Dates & Inbox Bulk Actions

You can now set a due date for each task and see a badge in the sidebar (as well as in our Inbox and the Kanban Boards) that changes color as it gets closer to the date.
And now inside your Email inbox, you can now select multiple emails and perform bulk actions like changing statuses, priority, adding tags, bookmarking and delete.

What it is: Essential project management tools to help you stop sacrificing quality for deadlines.

Why it matters:
When you’re managing 50,000+ tasks (like some of our larger agencies), “clarity” isn’t a luxury—it’s survival. We’ve added visual deadlines and bulk controls so you can clear the noise and focus on the deep work.

Quick wins:

  • Due Dates: Look for the new badge in the sidebar and Kanban board. It changes colour as the deadline looms (red means run).
  • Bulk Actions: In the Email Inbox, select 10 emails at once and hit Archive, Delete, or Change Status. Immensely satisfying.
  • Real-time Titles: You can now edit task titles directly in the Inbox without opening the full task view. Claro likes this one – it turns vague “fix this” titles into actionable to-dos instantly.

☕️ Quality of Life Updates

You might have noticed message streaming on reviews. This has sped up the planning steps with Claro by 2.3x!
  • Smart Widget States: The Atarim widget now knows who is looking at it. It collapses to get out of the way for “Pro” users (you) but stays visible for clients who need that friendly “Help” button.
  • Tab-to-Mention: You can now use the Tab key to quickly select a user when @mentioning them in comments. Smooth.
  • New File Support: We’ve added support for uploading AI, PSD, and DWG (AutoCAD) files. This is a little prep work for a very big release coming soon (see below).

? Under-the-Hood Fixes

We’ve tackled a massive batch of bugs to make the platform feel solid, predictable, and professional.

  • Browse Mode: Now works properly in tablet and mobile previews.
  • Real-Time Comments: Edited comments now update instantly for everyone without needing a refresh. No more “Wait, what did you just say?” moments.
  • Ghost Button: The “Add page for review” button no longer disappears when you have a crowded sidebar.
  • Slack Integration: Cleaned up the settings layout so it actually looks like part of the app.
  • Enterprise Forms: Page titles in forms now respect your settings (if you disabled them, they stay hidden).

What’s Coming Next?

  • The Rebuilt Graphic Feedback Tool: We’ve dropped a few hints with the new file support (DWG/PSD), but we are completely overhauling how you review static assets. We’re taking the “Expertise Layer” we built for websites and applying it to any visual file. It’s coming very soon.

Time to get to work

  1. Install the Figma Plugin and sync your first design.
  2. Log in and try uploading a PDF to test the new AI vision.
  3. Head over to Atarim Labs to see the full release notes and vote on the roadmap.

What is Vibe Coding? The Comprehensive Guide to AI-Native Development

For the last fifty years, learning to code meant learning to think like a machine. It demanded that you memorize rigid syntax, manage memory allocation, and hunt for missing semicolons in a sea of green text. If you could not speak the machine’s language, you could not build.

That era is over.

We have moved from an era of syntax to an era of intent. This shift has given rise to a new discipline that is dominating the tech landscape in 2026: Vibe Coding.

What is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is the practice of building software by describing what you want in natural language and relying on Artificial Intelligence to write the actual code. Unlike traditional programming, where the developer meticulously authors every line, a vibe coder focuses entirely on the functionality, look, and “feel” of the outcome. They often accept the AI’s output without manually reviewing the underlying syntax.

The term might sound informal, but the vibe coding meaning goes deeper than slang. It describes a profound shift in abstraction. In traditional development, the coder is the worker. They are down in the trenches and laying the bricks one by one. They have total control, but they also carry the total cognitive load of implementation.

In vibe coding, the human becomes the manager. You are no longer laying the bricks. You are the Site Foreman directing a crew of hyper-fast, tireless robot workers. Your job is not to know how to mix the mortar. Your job is to look at the wall and say, “That’s crooked, fix it,” or “I want this room to feel more spacious.”

You are managing the vibe—the user experience, the flow, and the outcome—rather than the code itself.

Karpathy, Viral Tweets, and the Shift to Exponentials

While developers have been using AI autocomplete tools like GitHub Copilot since 2021, the cultural shift to “vibe coding” didn’t truly begin until early 2025. The catalyst was a post by Andrej Karpathy, a founding member of OpenAI and former Director of AI at Tesla.

In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) in February 2025, Karpathy admitted that he had stopped writing code almost entirely. “I just fully give in to the vibes,” he wrote. “Embrace exponentials, and forget the code even exists.”

This was a watershed moment. For decades, software engineering culture prided itself on precision, “clean code,” and understanding the underlying systems. When one of the world’s most respected AI engineers gave the industry permission to “forget the code exists,” the floodgates opened. It signaled that writing syntax was no longer the high-value activity. Managing the output was.

The Three Levels of AI-Native Development

Vibe coding is not a single tool or a specific workflow. It is a philosophy that manifests across a spectrum of different platforms. Understanding where you fall on this spectrum is the first step to mastering the craft.

Level 1: Prompt-to-Website (The “Magic Wand”)

At this level, the code is completely invisible. You type a prompt, and a fully functional application appears. This is the domain of tools like Lovable and Bolt.new.

  • The Experience: You type, “Create a dashboard for a coffee shop that tracks inventory and sales.” The AI generates a React application with a sidebar, charts, and tables.
  • The Code: It exists in the background, but you rarely look at it. You make changes by talking to the chat interface. You might say “Make the charts green” or “Add a button to export CSV.”
  • Best For: Non-technical founders building MVPs, marketers creating landing pages, and rapid prototyping.

Level 2: AI-Assisted “Tab” Coding

This is the most common form of vibe coding among professional developers. Tools like Cursor and VS Code with Copilot sit here. The code is visible, but the human isn’t typing it.

  • The Experience: You write a comment like // function to calculate monthly churn, and the AI suggests the next 20 lines of code. You press the “Tab” key to accept it.
  • The Vibe: You are still reading the code, but you are reading it like an editor reviews a manuscript. You are looking for logic errors rather than syntax errors.
  • Best For: Experienced developers who want to move 10x faster.

Level 3: The Hybrid Agent

This is the emerging standard in 2026. Tools like Replit Agents don’t just write code. They perform tasks.

  • The Experience: You give a high-level command: “Refactor the authentication system to use Supabase instead of Firebase.” The agent navigates multiple files, installs packages, updates environment variables, and rewrites the logic autonomously.
  • The Vibe: You are managing a junior developer. You assign a ticket, wait for them to finish, and then review the Pull Request.
  • Best For: Complex refactors and building full-stack features.

How to Vibe Code: The New Workflow

If you have never vibe coded before, the process can feel disorienting. It requires unlearning the muscle memory of traditional coding. Here is how the mechanics work in practice.

1. The “Accept All” Mentality

The hallmark of a true vibe coder is the willingness to accept AI output without scrutinizing every character. In a traditional workflow, a developer might agonize over whether to use a for loop or a map function. The vibe coder does not care. If the application works, the implementation detail is irrelevant.

This requires a psychological shift. You must trust the “probabilistic” nature of Large Language Models (LLMs). You are trading granular control for velocity.

2. Rapid Iteration via Feedback Loops

Because you are not writing the code, debugging looks different. You do not hunt for missing brackets. You treat the error as a prompt.

  • Traditional Debugging: Read the stack trace, open the file, find line 42, fix the typo.
  • Vibe Debugging: Copy the error message, paste it into the chat, and say, “It crashed when I clicked submit. Fix it.”

The development cycle becomes a tight loop of Prompt → Generate → Test → Re-Prompt.

3. High-Level Guidance Over Low-Level Logic

You steer the ship with product intentions rather than technical specifications.

  • Instead of: “Set the div padding to 24px and use flex-direction column.”
  • You say: “Give the content more room to breathe and stack the cards vertically on mobile.”

The Quality Gap: When AI Speed Creates “Slop”

If this sounds too good to be true, that is because it is. Vibe coding comes with a significant, often invisible cost.

We call this the Talented Junior Developer Problem.

Imagine you hired a junior developer who works at the speed of light. They never sleep, they know every programming language in existence, and they do exactly what you tell them to do immediately.

However, they have zero life experience. They have never seen a user struggle with a confusing menu. They do not know that light grey text on a white background is unreadable for 20% of the population. They do not care about Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). They do not care about SEO.

If you tell this junior developer to “build a contact form,” they will build one instantly.

  • Will it work? Yes.
  • Will it block spam bots? Probably not.
  • Will it work on an old Android phone? Maybe.
  • Will it have the correct ARIA labels for screen readers? Unlikely.

This creates a phenomenon known as “Slop”. These are websites that are technically functional but qualitatively broken. They look fine at a glance (“the vibes are good”), but they are filled with invisible flaws that hurt user experience, accessibility, and search rankings.

According to data from Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 batch, nearly 25% of startups shipped codebases that were primarily AI-generated. The question for the market is no longer “Can AI build it?” The question is “Is it good enough to ship?”

The Missing Layer: Verification

In traditional development, the “code review” process catches these issues. A senior developer looks at the junior developer’s code and says, “This isn’t secure,” or “This isn’t accessible.”

In vibe coding, you are the senior developer. But if you are non-technical, or if you are simply moving too fast to check the details, who is reviewing the AI’s work?

This is where the process often breaks down. Vibe coders ship fast, but they often ship products that feel “off.” Buttons don’t provide feedback when clicked. Layouts shift unexpectedly. The copy sounds robotic.

Closing the Gap with Expert Feedback

The solution isn’t to stop vibe coding. The speed and creativity advantages are too great to ignore. The solution is to introduce a Quality Layer into your workflow.

If the AI is the “Talented Junior Developer,” you need a “Senior Developer” to review the work before it goes live. This is where Atarim fits into the vibe coding ecosystem.

Atarim acts as the automated oversight layer for AI-generated websites. It doesn’t write code. It reviews the outcome. By scanning your vibe-coded site, Atarim’s AI agents can identify the visual, accessible, and functional issues that the build tools missed.

  • Pixel checks your design consistency to ensure the AI didn’t use five different shades of blue.
  • Navi ensures your site is accessible to all users, flagging contrast issues the human eye might miss.
  • Glitch finds the broken links and functional errors that happen when AI hallucinates a URL.

You can move at the speed of AI, but with the confidence of an expert team.Ready to vibe code responsibly?
Don’t let invisible errors undermine your new app. Run your vibe-coded URL through Atarim’s free website checker and see exactly what the AI missed in seconds.

It’s Time Delay Time! January 8 Atarim Release Notes

2025 was a whirlwind. It was the year we planted the flag for AI-powered QA and built the foundation of the InnerCircle. But if last year was about building the engine, 2026 is where we put our foot on the gas. We are kicking off the year with a frankly ridiculous level of excitement.

We’re obsessed with making life easier for design teams and creatives, and we’ve got a massive roadmap ahead. But first, let’s talk about the first release of the year… which brings a “holy grail” feature to your automation.

See the highlights from Vito below, or check out the full changelog on Atarim Labs.

⏳ New: Time Delays in Workflows

This has been one of the most requested features on our Labs board (if you haven’t voted on features yet, go do it now!).

Our Workflow feature already lets Atarim work for you in the background as you create and complete tasks. But this week, we added the “missing link”: Time Delays.

This allows you to set a specific gap between a Trigger and a Result. Why is this a game-changer? Because it allows for “conditional urgency.”

Here are 3 ways to use this right now (inspired by how we use Atarim internally):

  • The “Check-In” Escalation: If a task is set to In Progress but hasn’t moved for 5 days, automatically change the urgency to High (the decision to @ everybody in Slack with ? emojis remains yours).
  • The “Manager Intervention” Trigger: If a task is still Open 5 days after it was created, automatically change the assignee to yourself (or a PM) so you can step in and see why it’s stalled.
  • The 20-Week Backlog Groomer: Tag a task as “Backlog.” If 20 weeks pass and it’s still there, automatically set the urgency to High and reassign it to a team member to groom the backlog and get it moving. It’s like hot potato. Except the potato is now freezing cold.

This opens up unlimited possibilities for how you manage your team and your clients without ever sending a manual “Just checking in” email again.

?️ Squashing the “New Year” Bugs

We’ve been busy with the digital broom and bucket, tidying up the corners of the platform to ensure your first week back at work is as smooth as possible.

?️ Better Inbox Previews

Identifying files at a glance just got a lot easier. Uploaded images now display correctly in your Inbox previews, so you don’t have to play “guess the screenshot” every time a client uploads a stray .PNG.

We can’t make your whole email inbox tidy, but we can at least be absolved of some of the blame ?

? Smoother AI Guidelines

There was a particularly annoying bug where the AI Guidelines text area would lose focus with every single keystroke. We’ve fixed it, so you can now give your AI agents their marching orders without the UI jumping around like it’s had too much espresso.

(Who am i kidding. It’s the first full week of January. We’ve all had too much coffee.)

? Distraction-Free Dashboard (Live Chat)

We love talking to you, but that little chat bubble can feel like a distraction when you’re in deep work mode, so we’ve hidden the live chat button by default inside the dashboard. It’ll only appear when you actually open it from the Help sidebar or modal.

Other Quality of Life Fixes:

  • Signup Compliance: The Terms and Conditions link on the signup page is back and fully functional (boring, but important!).
  • Task Popovers: We’ve fixed some broken components in the task popover to ensure every button does what you expect it to.
  • Enterprise Intake Forms: For our Enterprise users, we’ve fixed the “Prev” button in form navigation. Multi-page forms are back to being a breeze.

What’s Coming in 2026?

We aren’t just shipping fixes; we’re shipping a vision. This year, you can expect the InnerCircle to become even more deeply integrated into your actual design files, more robust reporting, and even more ways to kill off “email ping-pong” for good.

What are you waiting for? Log in and set up your first delayed workflow today.

End Of Year Extravaganza: December 17 Release Notes

Goodness gracious me. Following what feels like weeks of massive updates, we’re back again to share a frankly ridiculous amount of new features and releases.

The InnerCircle launch was huge, the AI upgrade a couple of weeks ago was massive, but this is the one. Three ginormous releases that will radically enhance the way YOU use Atarim.

Let’s get to it – see the best bits from Vito below in our last release of the year, or read the full changelog on Atarim Labs.

? Our Updated Chrome Extension is Here!

Our Chrome extension saw an update last week that radically transforms the performance and stability of the Atarim. Go and install it right now. No, seriously, click THIS link and go into the web store to get it immediately.

Why is the Chrome extension such a big deal? Instead of reproducing pages inside the Atarim platform (as-was with the URL method you’ll be familiar with…) you can connect Atarim directly to your browser:

  • The InnerCircle (and Atarim as a whole) sees what you see
  • Screenshots are more accurate and faster
  • You can use Atarim on any page, on any site, at any time – including behind passwords, login screens and more.

? WordPress Users Rejoice! The Plugin Has Been REBUILT

Atarim started life as a WordPress plugin, and today, we’re going back to our roots with a complete, ground-up rebuild in ReactJS.

This isn’t just a lick of paint; it’s a total architectural overhaul that brings the full power of the Atarim platform directly into your WP Admin.

Why bother with the plugin? Because native is better. By running Atarim inside WordPress, you’re unlocking:

  • Total Access: Finally leave feedback on gated pages, staging environments, WooCommerce checkout flows, and member dashboards.
  • Zero Friction: Use the ?collab=true magic to jump straight into a session without even touching a dashboard.
  • InnerCircle AI Integration: Your AI teammates now live inside your WordPress site, providing expert-level design and copy feedback exactly where the work is happening.

If you’re building on WordPress, this is the definitive way to use Atarim. Full stop.

✂️ Web Snippet Overhaul: Install Atarim Natively Anywhere

Not on WordPress? Weird… Don’t worry, we won’t hold it against you.

We’ve rolled out a massive update to our Web Snippet: a lightweight script that lets you embed Atarim natively onto any site, whether it’s Shopify, Webflow, or a custom-coded SaaS masterpiece.

The old “URL-proxy” method was great for a quick look, but the Snippet is where the real power lies:

  • Pixel-Perfect Accuracy: Because the script runs on the site itself, screenshots and annotations are more accurate than ever.
  • Smarter AI Agents: By giving our InnerCircle agents (Pixel, Lexi, and the gang) a direct view of your code and site structure, their feedback becomes exponentially more helpful.
  • The “Client-Proof” Experience: Your clients don’t need to install a thing. Once the snippet is in your footer, they just click and comment.

It takes about 60 seconds to install, but it’ll save you hours of “which page are you looking at?” emails every single week. Go do it NOW friend.

Which version should you use?

To make sure you’re using the right tool for the job, here’s the quick cheat sheet:

  • If you’re reading this: You know what’s up. Get the Chrome Extension to review any page on the web instantly.
  • For your WordPress sites: Grab the WordPress Plugin for the deepest integration possible.
  • For everything else (Shopify, Webflow, SaaS): Use the Web Snippet to give your clients a native feedback experience.

? Comment Reactions!

One of our most requested features is hot and FRESH out of the kitchen. I’d suggest letting it cool down, but this is software we’re talking about so the risk of burning yourself is sufficiently low.

  • Add your choice of 5 reactions to any comment (Note: Dave, you’re allowed to use the happy one when reviewing my designs. It works, i’ve tested it. It hurts my feelings when you only use the angry one).
  • SECRET PURPOSE: We’re actually using this to track how you feel about our AI comments too. Is Pixel getting to you? Want to show Claro some love? We implore you to.

Atarim Chrome Extension: Connect Atarim Directly To Your Browser

If you’ve been using Atarim for a while, the Chrome extension itself isn’t new. What is new is what it unlocks.

As Atarim has evolved (especially with the InnerCircle and AI-powered reviews) the way we connect to websites matters more than ever.

For most teams, that connection happens inside Chrome. And that’s exactly where this update makes a difference.

The Chrome Extension provides the best Atarim experience

Atarim embeds team collaboration and the your senior AI creative team (the InnerCircle) directly on any website you’re viewing.

That means:

  • Leaving visual feedback on live pages
  • Running AI-powered reviews in real context
  • Creating tasks and comments without switching tools

But when Atarim is connected directly to your browser through the extension, it gets better context:

  • More accurate on-site screenshots
  • Cleaner access to page structure and behavior
  • Fewer edge cases caused by rendering or blocking

In short: you’re working with the site as your browser sees it.

Weird quirks that only show up on your setup? Pages that are inside a web app, or behind login screens? With the Chrome extension, you can capture it all.

How do i install the Atarim Chrome Extension?

Click ‘Add to Chrome’ in the Chrome web store.

If you have Chrome installed, it couldn’t be easier! Visit the Chrome web store, search for Atarim and then click ‘Add to Chrome’.

Click ‘Add extension’ to give Atarim permission to access your browser.

After installing the extension, you’ll be prompted to log in. Follow the instructions and then you’ll be ready to go!

Follow the on-screen instructions until Chrome takes you to this page.

Finally, we encourage users to ‘pin’ the Atarim extension in Chrome to make it easy to run a review at any time.

How is this different from adding a site via URL?

The URL-based method still works and it’s not going away.

You can always paste a URL into Atarim and start collaborating that way (or add atarim.ai/ to the start of any URL).

This is especially useful when you might not have full control over your device (or website), or need feedback from stakeholders or guests who shouldn’t need to install anything.

That said, any URL-based collaboration method naturally comes with limits:

  • Cookie banners can interfere
  • Some scripts don’t load cleanly
  • Complex or dynamic pages can behave inconsistently

The Chrome extension removes those limitations by connecting Atarim and the browser itself. Stability improves dramatically, and Atarim can “see” exactly what the browser sees.

That’s why we recommend it. It’s not required, but it’s vastly more powerful, stable and full-featured – simply due to the nature of how websites work.

Do clients or guests need to install the extension?

No, and that’s intentional. Clients and guests can still:

  • Receive a collaboration link
  • Leave feedback
  • Interact with tasks and comments

…all without installing anything.

And with our website snippet and WordPress plugin, users without the extension can still get a fast, reliable and full-featured experience when leaving feedback – Atarim just requires installation on the website instead.

The Chrome extension is recommended for everybody, but it’s primarily for internal teams: designers, developers, PMs, marketers… Anyone regularly involved in building or reviewing work.

Does Atarim work on logged-in or protected pages?

Yes, and this is one of the biggest wins. With the Chrome extension, Atarim works on pretty much any page on the web.

Because the extension runs in your browser session, you can collaborate on:

  • Logged-in dashboards
  • Admin areas
  • Membership sites
  • Pages behind security blockers

This makes it ideal for reviewing apps, internal tools, and authenticated experiences that were previously hard to capture cleanly.

How does the extension compare to the WordPress plugin and the web snippet?

If you’re working with WordPress sites, the WordPress plugin offers a native experience that gives clients and colleagues a way to review any page without needing the extension.

And if you’re using any other CMS or platform, the Web Snippet natively embeds Atarim on the page in a similar way.

Once installed, Atarim (and the InnerCircle) runs natively on the site itself. That means:

  • Feedback happens directly on the page
  • A smoother experience for ongoing site work

Each requires permission / access to install on a website, but gives a great, native experience to users without needing them to install the Chrome Extension.

Many users (particularly those responsible designing, building and maintain websites) install the Chrome Extension and either the snippet or the WordPress plugin.

So when should I use the Chrome extension?

It’s not mandatory, but the Chrome extension is the fastest way to unlock everything Atarim can do inside the browser. Install it if:

  • You want the most stable, context-rich experience
  • You’re part of the internal delivery team
  • You work in Chrome daily

Still not sure which version to use?

Atarim WordPress Plugin: Install Atarim Natively Inside WordPress

We’ve just rolled out a major upgrade to the Atarim WordPress plugin and it’s a big one. In fact, it’s a full architectural rebuild.

Not only does it bring the InnerCircle AI directly into WordPress, but it also makes feedback faster, more stable and brings a host of improvements and features.

Pro-Tip: Even if you have the WordPress plugin installed, we still recommend the Chrome Extension to get the best experience.

What’s actually changed with the WordPress plugin?

Atarim actually started life as a WordPress plugin (back when it was WP Feedback). Since then, we have expanded the platform immensely, and massively increased functionality.

And we recently completed our ground-up rebuild of the plugin in ReactJS, so it better fits WordPress standards and matches features with the other ways you can use Atarim.

For the past few months, the best way to use Atarim was through a URL-based method. You’d drop in a public-facing website, we’d load that page inside Atarim (through a proxy method), and feedback would happen there.

That worked quite well but it had limits. With the new plugin, Atarim now runs natively inside your WordPress site.

That means:

  • Better performance
  • More stability
  • Deeper access
  • And a much more “this belongs here” experience

The result? Feedback that feels less like a workaround and more like part of WordPress itself.

How do I install the WordPress plugin?

Installing the plugin is extremely easy. Go to ‘Plugins’ inside WP Admin, and then search for Atarim. You’ll see the Atarim Plugin available.

Open the plugin page, and click ‘Install Now’ to add the plugin to your site.

Click ‘Install Now’ via the Plugin Directory inside WordPress to install Atarim quickly and easily.

Follow the instructions to login and connect your account, and then you’ll be able to natively add feedback and review pages.

Advanced users may wish to download Atarim from the WordPress Plugin Directory and install it manually.

Visit Atarim’s listing in the WordPress Plugin Directory to download and install the ZIP file.

Why should I use the WordPress plugin?

If you’re building with WordPress, our plugin makes giving and receiving feedback much easier and faster.

And because Atarim now lives inside WordPress, it can access pages that were previously out of reach:

  • Pages behind login screens
  • Staging environments
  • Private or gated pages
  • Admin-only views

Before, only publicly accessible pages could be reviewed via URL. Now? If it exists in WordPress, you can leave feedback on it.

This is especially huge for:

  • Membership sites
  • Dashboards
  • Client portals
  • WooCommerce flows
  • Anything that requires authentication

It also means things like cookie banners, overlays, and popups are no longer blockers. Atarim is injected as an element within WordPress itself, so the experience stays smooth and interactive.

How does this make feedback faster day-to-day?

A few small changes add up to a big workflow upgrade:

  • One-click auto-login to WordPress

Jump straight from Atarim into the WordPress admin without juggling credentials.
  • More responsive, interactive UI

Everything feels quicker — clicking, commenting, resolving tasks — all smoother and more immediate.

How easy is it to start a feedback session?

Very easy. Once the snippet is installed, you can kick off a feedback session by simply adding a ?collab=true to the page you want reviewed.

No dashboards, no setup friction: just share the URL and start collecting feedback.

That makes reviews faster, smoother, and more reliable for clients and colleagues.

Where does the InnerCircle fit into this?

This update also unlocks something powerful: Inner Circle AI directly on WordPress sites.

Because the platform is running natively, anyone reviewing a WordPress page can now get input from Atarim’s AI teammates. Not just human feedback, but expert-level guidance layered right onto the site.

That means:

  • Clearer feedback
  • Better context
  • Fewer vague comments
  • Faster decisions

AI isn’t a separate tool here, it’s part of the same collaborative flow.

Atarim Web Snippet: Add Atarim Natively to Any Page on Any Website

An upgraded version of our Atarim Web Snippet – a lightweight script that lets Atarim (and the InnerCircle) run natively on any website – is now live.

So what does that actually mean for you? Let’s break it down.

Pro-Tip: Even if you have the web snippet installed, we still recommend the Chrome Extension to get the best experience.

Why should I install the web snippet?

In short, when the snippet runs directly on the site:

  • Pages load more fully and consistently
  • Feedback feels faster and more responsive
  • Screenshots and annotations are more accurate
  • The InnerCircle understands the page better, including the code behind it

This directly improves the quality of AI feedback from agents like Pixel, Lexi, Navi, Index, and Glitch.

More context = smarter suggestions, fewer false positives, and more useful insights.

How do i install the web snippet?

It should only take a minute or two for anybody with admin access to the website or pages you’re working on. Head to the projects screen on the Atarim dashboard.

Click ‘Add snippet’ at the top of the Atarim platform.
Select ‘Add Custom Script’, and then entire your website URL in the box below.
Copy and paste the script into the <footer> or <head> section of every page of your project.

It’s that simple! We’ve included more on how to install the Atarim web snippet on our documentation.

Why did we build a web snippet in the first place?

Until now, the easiest way to use Atarim was through the platform: adding a URL in the app, and then sharing the project link with those you wanted feedback from. That approach worked almost everywhere and required zero setup, which made it incredibly accessible.

But it came with trade-offs.

URL-based collaboration can only see what’s publicly available. It struggles with:

  • Pages behind logins
  • Web apps and dashboards
  • Dynamic or partially loaded content

And for AI-powered feedback, context matters. A lot. The new snippet changes that.

By running inside the website itself, Atarim gets a clearer, more reliable view of the page: including how it loads, behaves, and is structured. That means better performance, more stability, and deeper insight for the InnerCircle.

How does this compare to the Chrome extension?

It’s very easy to install the Chrome extension too, and we strongly recommend it for the best experience.

The extension lets Atarim connect directly in your browser, which means:

  • Atarim and the InnerCircle can see the page exactly how your browser renders is
  • Screenshots are more reliable, and precisely match your viewport
  • Feedback flows feel even more seamless

For internal teams and power users, installing the snippet on the website and the extension in your browser is the optimal way to use Atarim.

But let’s be real: asking every client or stakeholder to install a Chrome extension isn’t always practical, especially for people using Safari or other browsers.

That’s where the snippet shines.

With the snippet in place, anyone can leave feedback without installing anything extra and still get a great experience.

What about WordPress users?

If you’re on WordPress, we recommend sticking with the Atarim WordPress plugin.

Atarim actually started life as a WordPress plugin (back when it was WP Feedback), and the plugin gives you full feature parity with the snippet (plus deeper native integration).

  • WordPress site? Use the plugin.
  • Any other platform or custom build? Use the snippet.

If you have the plugin installed, you won’t need to install the web snippet.

Does Atarim work on private pages and web apps?

Yes! and this is one of the biggest wins. If a page can load in a browser, Atarim can run on it.

That means:

  • Logged-in areas
  • SaaS dashboards
  • Internal tools
  • Staging environments
  • In-progress products

For SaaS builders, product teams, and anyone working beyond public-facing pages, this unlocks a whole new level of collaboration.

The bigger picture

The web snippet is about removing friction for humans and AI. Better context leads to better feedback. Better feedback leads to faster decisions.

And faster decisions mean better work shipped with fewer meetings, fewer screenshots, and fewer “can you explain what you meant?” messages.

To get started with Atarim today, simply add a page to review and start collecting clearer, faster, AI-powered feedback.

Bug Squashing Bonanza: December 10 Release Notes

This week saw dozens of bugs fixed and squashed. Did you ever see Starship Troopers? It was a bit like that, but without the starships. Or the troopers, come to think of it…

Vito is below with the highlights, and we’ve published our full changelog on Atarim Labs:

? Onboarding Has Been Upgraded

We’ve refined the onboarding logic to get you to that ‘Aha!’ moment faster. We want to cut the time it takes to get value from Atarim from weeks down to minutes, and this clearer guidance is a big step in that direction.

? White-labelling Has Been Restored

If you’ve chosen to apply custom branding (a feature for those on our Enterprise plans), it correctly appears across collaboration views, email notifications, and other user-facing surfaces.

We’ve also enhanced the way link previews look for everybody, so when you share an Atarim link it looks polished and on-brand.

?️ A Healthy Coat of Polish Across The UX

Speaking of polish, we’ve invested time in adding shine and polish to other areas of our UX. This (amongst other things) includes cleaner, readable toast notifications (whoever thought of cooking bread twice is a GENIUS).

Text overflow behaviour has also been improved and scrolling feels much better when tasks are on the page.

? AI Reviews Keep Getting Better

AI reviews now avoid over-scrolling. Why does this matter? Our AI relies on high-fidelity pixel data to understand your design. By fixing the ‘white screen’ infinite scroll issues, we ensure the AI ‘sees’ your site exactly as you designed it.

You’ll also see more accurate and precise feedback across responsive elements, as we’ve upgraded the way we capture screens of different dimensions.

? Other Important Fixes:

  • A Shout-out to SoPress: A special thank you to Fanny from SoPressed for flagging the specific edge cases that led to several of these improvements. We’re listening!
  • WordPress Security Hardening: As part of our end-of-year cleanup, we’ve squashed several warnings that popped up over the last few months. This includes tighter authorization, improved validation for media uploads, and reinforced token authentication.
  • Stickers Stay Put: We resolved an issue where UI elements would “drift” or “jump” while scrolling (no more floating markers).
  • Privacy & Flow: Client registration notes are now strictly private (hidden from collaborators), and the upgrade modal now politely closes itself immediately after payment.
  • Folder Clarity: Project titles are now fully visible when organizing folders. No more guessing games.
